Welcome to Abfabglass the home of Richard Goldings work from both Okra Studio Glass
and Station Glass
How time flies. Richard is now into his fourth year at Station Glass and is going
from strength to strength, I cant remember a time when I have seen Richard looking
so relaxed, confident and most importantly happy. He continues to stun everyone
including me with the ideas he comes up with.
The Autumn open day was great fun with Richard making a globe shaped vase in blue
with red Orchids the crowd that watched it being born were all amazed with Richard
demonstrating his skills. Sandra worked hard trying to talk and spend as much time
as she could with all the visitors that arrived. Some of you may not know that Sandra
hides her light under a bushel, she is a very talented artist as a painter using
the medium of canvas and acrylic paints. She sold several of her paintings this
year and was also commissioned to paint others.
On top of all this there were trips to Europe and the States where Richard held a
master class in The Corning Museum of glass in Corning, NY for a week in August,
were we surprised at his invitation to the Corning? not at all but I know they
were surprised that we had a master glass blower the calibre of Richard in the UK.
It was a very successful week and Richard was received warmly by all at the museum
Well the end of another year approaches faster than I would like, it seems to get
faster each year.
Richard has some new ideas to work on for next year so we can look forward to some
exciting creations, until then I wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Happy New
